"There are four things regarding which seven hundred Masha'ikh (Elders of Tasawwuf) were questioned and theirs replies were exactly the same (seven hundred great Auliya-ul-Allah have agreed upon the following answers):
First Question: Who is the most intelligent amongst all people?
Answer (of all seven hundred Masha'ikh): "The one who leaves the world (the one who disassociates himself from the lusts and love of the world)."
Second Question: "Who is the most pious amongst all people?
Answer: "The one who is unaffected by anything (not moved or changed by any of the creation)."
Third Question: "Who is the richest and the most wealthy amongst all people?"
Answer: "The one who is contended (with whatever Allah has given him)."
Fourth Question: "Who is the most dependent amongst all people?"
Answer: "The one who leaves contentment."
"In reality, the Sufi is he by whose barakah (blessings), all things accept cleanliness and nothing is able to rust his inner self. He also said that there are many things which a person speaks which makes the heart negligent towards Allah. If the beginning or the end of any talk is solely for the pleasure of Allah, then utter this speech from your tongue; otherwise, remain silent."
"Do not consider the ignorant and forgetful to be amongst the living."
"Do not worry and trouble yourself for the attainment of worldly honor and wealth."
"Do not forget death at any place or any place."
"To commit sins and to pretend like a pious person is a great deficiency."
"Do not disgrace and make yourself valueless for the attainment of wealth and money."
"Thank Allah for all His (countless) bounties."
"Do not forget Deen (Islamic way of life) when you sit amongst the people of wealth."
"Always keep your shortcomings in view."
"If you do not want to become disgraced and dishonored then do not fight with anybody."
"If you desire respect and dignity, then sit with the poor and the ones with broken hearts."
"The one who has done good to you, think of doing good towards him as well."
"Keep up the nobility and respect of your ancestors."
"One should stay in daily yearning to acquire new wealth in Akhlaaq (Islamic character)."
"Keep the Baatin (inner self) better and advanced than the Zaahir (outer self)."
"When Allah decides to inflict you in a calamity, then do not oppose this (decision of Allah)."
"Do not make consultation with the enemy."
"Make friends adore you by means of your good Akhlaaq."
"If you want to make the entire creation as your enemy, then become mutakabbir (the one with self-pride)."
"Protect and safeguard religious knowledge."
